Hey there, fellow dog lovers! If you and your furry babes are on the hunt for paw-some adventures, look no further than Westchester County. With its rolling hills, lush forests, and picture-perfect landscapes, it's the ideal spot for some quality outdoor time with your pups. 

Some of my favorite spots:

1. Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, Cross River

- Features: This sprawling 4,315-acre paradise is a haven of diverse trails and breathtaking views, perfect for an epic day of exploration.

- Dog Policy: Keep those pups leashed and ready for action!

- Why It's Great: It's the biggest park in Westchester, so you and your pup can roam to your hearts' content.

2. Rockefeller State Park Preserve, Pleasantville

- Features: With 45 miles of serene carriage roads, this preserve offers a delightful escape into nature's tranquility.

- Dog Policy: Leashed dogs are free to enjoy the trails.

- Why It's Great: Calm, well-maintained paths, you may see some horses, sheep and more.

3. Teatown Lake Reservation, Ossining

- Features: Explore 15 miles of trails that wind through enchanting forests and alongside shimmering lakes.

- Dog Policy: Leashes on and tails up!

- Why It's Great: Educational programs and wildlife sightings make this a favorite and it's right down the road from home!

4. Saxon Woods Park, White Plains

- Features:This 700-acre woodland wonderland offers plenty of room for playful frolicking.

- Dog Policy: Leashed dogs welcomed with a wag.

- Why It's Great: It's a family-friendly spot with wide-open spaces that your dogs (and kids) will love.

5. Blue Mountain Reservation, Peekskill

- Features: Get ready for 1,538 acres of trailblazing fun, whether you are hiking or taking on some mountain biking.

- Dog Policy: Leashes needed for exploring.

- Why It's Great: The varied terrain offers something for every kind of adventurer.

6. Cliffdale Farm , Croton-on-Hudson

- Features: This part of the Teatown Lake Reservation features scenic trails and charming historic farm buildings.

- Dog Policy: Leashes are a must.

- Why It's Great: The rustic charm makes it a unique outing you might even spot me and my adorable dogs, Luna and Jelly, here! That's us in the photo.

7. Sunny Ridge Preserve, Ossining

- Features: 143 acres of rolling meadows and inviting woodlands await you.

- Dog Policy: Leashed pups are welcome.

- Why It's Great: The open meadows are perfect for a lazy afternoon walk always other pups to play with

8. Kitchawan Preserve, Yorktown /tip of Ossining

- Features: This 208-acre preserve offers serene woodlands and stunning reservoir views.

- Dog Policy: Keep those leashes handy.

- Why It's Great: The tranquil setting is perfect for a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle. Great if your pups want to take a dip!

9. Old Croton Aqueduct Trail, Dobbs Ferry to the beautiful Croton Dam

- Features: A flat trail with historical charm, perfect for a leisurely stroll.

- Dog Policy: Leashed dogs invited.

- Why It's Great: It's a laid-back trail with lots of history and beautiful vistas. We usually start the trail near our home at the Quaker Ridge Rd entrance and walk to the dam.

Tips for Hiking with Your Dog

- Keep your dog leashes handy.

- Bring plenty of water and treats for both you and your pups!

- Check the weather and trail conditions before setting out.

- Always clean up after your pups to keep these beautiful trails pristine.
